Aldric

The one who arrives when least expected

Aldric appears at the end of Book I as a figure no one saw coming. A blue cloak full of holes that doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest. A staff that appears to hold opinions of its own about when and how to act. A smile that suggests he knows more than he lets on — which is a great deal.

The Wandering Sages are an ancient order. They roam the continent with no allegiance, no seat, no king. Their loyalty is to knowledge, though at times that knowledge leads them to places where knowledge is no longer enough.

His place in the group

Aldric is one of the four who carry on into Book III alongside Valekor, Ignar, and Borik. His inclusion in the group was neither chance nor accident. He knows it. The others suspect it. What no one yet knows is exactly why he chose to join — and what he is truly after.

Relationships

He joins Valekor's group at the end of Book I and stays with them through Books II and III, forming part of the core that endures across the saga alongside Borik. His bond with the others is one of trust earned little by little — Wandering Sages rarely stay, and the fact that Aldric does says something about what he has chosen to protect.
