DRAKHTHAR

The Heart of the Expedition · The Chronicles of Drakhthar
Where Doran is the mind, Borik is the heart. No one lifts a dwarf's spirits like he does.
On the harshest expeditions, where cold, fear, and exhaustion wear down even the strongest will, Borik is the one who finds a way to make them laugh. Not out of naivety — out of strength. He knows the weight they carry. And he carries it with them.
Red-haired, loud, and far more capable than he lets on, Borik makes up in loyalty and character what others have in raw skill. No one in the group would underestimate his absence. They have felt it more than once.
“If this dwarf gives up, there's truly nothing left to be done. And this dwarf does not give up.”
Borik is one of the few characters who carries on from Book I through Book III. His constant presence is no accident — he embodies the endurance of the spirit when all else fails. He is not the deadliest, nor the wisest. But he is the one who has most often kept the others moving forward.
His strongest bond is with Doran, whom he accompanies on expedition through Books I and II. Where Doran falls silent, Borik speaks; where Doran endures in silence, Borik endures out loud. He is also one of the four who reach Book III alongside Valekor, Ignar, and Aldric — part of the core that survives the passing of the books.
